Khyber Pakhtunkhwa CM visits Ayat Noor’s family, pledges justice

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Sohail Afridi visited the family of five-year-old Ayat Noor in Haripur following her rape and murder. During the visit, Afridi provided the family with Rs10 million in financial assistance and expressed the provincial government’s full support in seeking justice.

Afridi condemned the crime, stating that the perpetrators must face severe punishment to serve as a deterrent. He also criticized the local administration and police, questioning the effectiveness of government institutions if they cannot ensure the safety of children. The Chief Minister appealed to the judiciary to deny any leniency to those accused in the case.

In response to the tragedy, Afridi announced that the province’s upcoming Child Protection Bill will be formally named after Ayat Noor.
