Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Governor criticizes Maulana Fazlur Rehman

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Governor Faisal Karim Kundi expressed disappointment regarding recent remarks made by senior politician Maulana Fazlur Rehman. Addressing the media in Peshawar, Kundi refuted Rehman’s assertion that a government cannot function without his involvement, stating that the provincial government was formed and will continue to operate successfully in his absence.

Kundi also disagreed with Rehman’s claims regarding the failure of the provincial government to maintain law and order and his stance on ‘Governor Raj’. The Governor defended the current administration's efforts to establish peace, alleging that decisions made by the previous provincial government were influenced by external actors in Kabul and Kandahar rather than Islamabad. He noted that certain fugitives from the previous administration are inciting people from across the border.

Regarding the economy, Kundi emphasized the importance of utilizing the mineral resources located in Lakki Marwat, Tank, and Bannu. He suggested that foreign companies, Pakistani institutions, and the provincial government could engage in joint investment projects to exploit these resources. While Kundi stated that dialogue is possible on various matters, he maintained that there would be no compromise on maintaining security and peace in the province.
