Khyber Pakhtunkhwa police issued strict orders to manage potential protests

The Inspector General of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has issued strict operational directives to all district police officers to manage potential protests and civil unrest within the province. To maintain law and order, police are instructed to heighten security measures and ensure the availability of personnel at the district level.

To protect sensitive locations, the directives mandate the deployment of anti-riot squads, special units, and plainclothes officers. Specific emphasis has been placed on securing government and private property, police stations, banks, and petrol pumps against potential damage by anti-state elements.

The operational protocol dictates that authorities should first attempt to resolve issues through dialogue with protesters. If negotiations fail, anti-riot squads will intervene, followed by the use of warning shots and rubber bullets if necessary. Additionally, police have been ordered to maintain video surveillance of protest activities and coordinate closely with district administrations and other law enforcement agencies. Authorities have warned that strict action will be taken against anyone attempting to damage public installations or disrupt peace.
