Kia cuts Sorento price by R$55,000 in Brazil

Kia Motors announced a second price reduction for its Sorento SUV in Brazil, lowering the official price to R$344,990. The move trims R$55,000 (about 13.8%) from the vehicle’s launch price of R$399,990, marking the steepest discount the model has seen in just seven months.

The Sorento is offered only in a 2.2‑litre Smartstream turbodiesel engine delivering 194 hp and 45 kg·m of torque, paired with an eight‑speed dual‑clutch automatic and all‑wheel drive. It seats seven passengers and includes premium features such as dual 12.3‑inch screens, digital instrumentation, dual‑zone climate control, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and a 179‑litre cargo area.

Kia’s pricing strategy aims to keep the Sorento competitive in a Brazilian SUV segment that is increasingly dominated by electrified models, especially from Chinese manufacturers. By reducing the price, Kia hopes to attract buyers seeking a traditional diesel SUV with ample space and modern equipment.
