Kia K5 2027 launches in US with price increase and trim changes

Kia has introduced the 2027 K5 in the United States, featuring a slight price increase and a streamlined lineup. The starting price for the model has risen by $200, moving from $27,490 to $27,690.

A significant change for the 2027 model year is the discontinuation of the high-end EX trim. Consequently, the K5 GT now serves as the top-tier version, priced from $33,790. To provide more options, Kia has added a $700 Convenience Package for the GT-Line trim, which includes features such as heated steering wheels, ventilated front seats, and power-adjustable seats. This package requires the purchase of the $2,200 GT-Line Premium Package, which adds a Bose 12-speaker audio system, LED interior lighting, and a panoramic sunroof.

Despite a general decline in the sedan segment, the Kia K5 has seen growing popularity, with cumulative sales reaching 52,611 units through August, an 11.2% increase compared to the previous year. The lineup includes a 2.5L 4-cylinder engine producing 186 horsepower for standard models, while the performance-oriented K5 GT features a 2.5L turbocharged engine delivering 290 horsepower.
