Kia launches new Seltos compact SUV in Europe

Kia announced the European debut of the second‑generation Seltos, a compact C‑segment SUV positioned between the XCeed and Sportage. Built on a new platform, the 4.43‑metre‑long model features a boxy design inspired by Kia’s EV line, a 12.3‑inch digital instrument cluster, a 5.3‑inch climate‑control screen and a 12.3‑inch infotainment display, as well as optional Harman Kardon audio, digital key and a panoramic glass roof. Power comes from a 1.6‑litre turbo‑charged gasoline engine delivering 180 hp, paired with a six‑speed manual or a seven‑speed dual‑clutch automatic, with front‑ or all‑wheel drive options. Pricing in Europe starts at €34,200 for the conventional‑engine version.

The launch was unveiled at a Frankfurt event, where Kia highlighted the Seltos’ spacious 536‑litre boot (up to 1,511 litres with the rear seat folded) and its flexible interior, including 64‑colour ambient lighting and a range of trim levels from the basic GL to the sportier GT‑Line and premium X‑Line. The model will reach markets such as Lithuania in early August, with showrooms already displaying the vehicle. Kia plans to introduce hybrid variants later in the year, expanding the lineup’s electrified options.

The introduction aligns with Kia’s broader European strategy, which also includes refreshed Niro and XCeed models that share the brand’s new “Opposites United” design language.
