Kia launches second-generation Seltos SUV in Europe
Kia is expanding its compact SUV lineup in Europe with the introduction of the second-generation Seltos. The model, which is manufactured in South Korea, is being launched with both gasoline and hybrid powertrain options.
The hybrid version (HEV) introduces the e-AWD system, marking the first time Kia has implemented all-wheel drive via an independent electric motor powering the rear wheels. This hybrid variant offers a combined 154 CV for front-wheel-drive models and 178 CV for the all-wheel-drive version. Technical features include Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) capability, allowing users to power external devices, and ‘Stay Mode’ to run climate control and infotainment from the propulsion battery while parked.
The gasoline-only version features a 1.6 T-GDI engine producing 180 CV. In markets like Slovenia, prices for the gasoline model start at approximately 26,500 euros, while in Spain, starting prices are around 26,770 euros. Deliveries for hybrid models are expected to begin in certain European countries, such as Germany, as early as October.
