Kia launches updated XCeed crossover amid automotive industry transition
Kia has launched the updated XCeed, a compact crossover designed to serve as a technological bridge during the automotive industry's transition toward electrification. The vehicle offers a range of powertrains, including gasoline engines and mild-hybrid options, alongside fully electric models like the EV2 and EV4 produced at the same facility.
Manufacturing takes place at the Kia plant in Žilina, a large-scale European facility employing approximately 3,700 people and utilizing over 600 robots. The plant has adapted its operations to handle a diverse mix of internal combustion, hybrid, and electric vehicle production on the same lines.
The updated XCeed features design refinements, improved driving dynamics, and enhanced technology, including dual 12.3-inch screens, Digital Key 2.0, and advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS). Pricing for the new model starts at approximately 19,860 euros in some markets and 21,500 euros in others.
