Kia tops Ecuador electric vehicle sales in July 2026

The South‑Korean brand also topped the electric‑vehicle segment, moving 212‑214 fully electric cars, the highest monthly total among all brands. Overall new‑car registrations in Ecuador rose 27.9% year‑on‑year to 14,812 units, while electric‑vehicle sales jumped 149.3% to 910 units nationwide. The growth reflects expanding consumer preference for South‑Korean origin, with 87.3% of buyers considering it seriously and 43% naming it their first choice.
