Kia rolls out updated Seltos in China and prepares Sorento launch in India

Kia has introduced a heavily revised cabin for the China-spec Seltos, featuring a new dashboard, a steering‑column gear selector and a 27‑inch panoramic display that merges infotainment and driver information. The model is offered with a 1.5‑litre naturally aspirated engine (115 bhp) and a 1.5‑litre turbo (200 bhp). While the changes are market‑specific, Kia hints that a hybrid or electric Seltos could appear in India in the future.

In India, Kia confirmed that the Sorento will launch on 4 September, with bookings already open. The three‑row flagship SUV will arrive with a hybrid powertrain and sit on a monocoque platform, positioning it above the Seltos and Carens. Pricing is expected in the Rs 30‑40 lakh range, putting it against rivals such as the Toyota Fortuner and Skoda Kodiaq.
