Kia Seltos compact SUV launches in Slovakia with larger size and new tech

Kia has begun sales of the 2027 Seltos compact SUV, expanding the model with a bigger footprint, more upscale interior technology and a range of powertrains. In the United States the gasoline‑powered Seltos starts at $24,990, offers a 2.0‑liter engine or a turbocharged 1.6‑liter unit delivering 190 hp, and includes dual 12.3‑inch screens, wireless Apple CarPlay/Android Auto and optional all‑wheel drive. A hybrid version is slated for later in the year.

The model reaches the Slovak market in July 2026, arriving without a hybrid option initially. Slovak buyers can choose the 1.6‑liter T‑GDi engine (180 kW) paired with a 6‑speed manual or 7‑speed automatic, with optional all‑wheel drive. The Seltos measures 4,430 mm long, 1,830 mm wide and offers a cargo capacity of 483–536 liters, positioning it as a slightly smaller but more spacious alternative to the Kia Sportage.

Kia markets the Seltos as a global model aimed at buyers seeking a compact SUV that blends the practicality of a larger vehicle with a lower price point, promising a blend of comfort, technology and future hybrid capability.
