Kia expands European lineup with Seltos SUV and hybrid options

Kia is expanding its European lineup with the introduction of the Seltos compact SUV. While initially available in some markets with a 1.6-liter turbo gasoline engine producing 132 kW (180 HP), the brand is rolling out hybrid variants across Europe.

The new hybrid models include two power options: a front-wheel-drive version with 113 kW (154 HP) and an e-AWD version featuring an independent electric motor on the rear axle for 131 kW (178 HP). This e-AWD system represents a technological first for the brand, providing all-wheel drive without the complexity of traditional mechanical linkages.

Key features of the Seltos include a 536-liter trunk capacity, dual 12.3-inch displays, and Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) technology, which allows the vehicle to act as an external power source via a 230V outlet. The model is positioned in the market between the Stonic and the Sportage.
