Kia Sonet receives feature upgrades and price reductions
Kia is implementing strategic updates and pricing adjustments for its Sonet compact SUV in different markets.
In South Africa, the Sonet range has received significant upgrades focused on safety and technology. New features include a standard sunroof on the EX mid-spec model and a six-airbag safety specification for the new LS+ derivatives. The flagship SX model now includes a BOSE sound system as standard. The vehicle retains its 1.5 MPI petrol engine, offering 85kW and 144Nm of torque, with options for five-speed manual or CVT automatic transmissions.
In Vietnam, the Kia Sonet is seeing aggressive price reductions to remain competitive in the A-SUV segment. Current incentives of 10 to 20 million VND have brought the base model price down to approximately 450 million VND. This pricing strategy places the Sonet below competitors such as the Hyundai Grand i10 and the Toyota Raize, as Kia attempts to capture market share in a highly competitive landscape.
