Kia Sportage outperforms Mazda CX-5 in German SUV comparison
The Kia Sportage has outperformed the Mazda CX-5 in a comparative evaluation conducted by the German automotive publication Auto Bild. In a test of gasoline-powered compact SUVs, the Sportage earned a total score of 569 points, surpassing the CX-5, which received 552 points.
The evaluation covered seven categories: body, convenience, powertrain, driving performance, connected car technology, eco-friendliness, and economy. Kia secured higher scores in five of these seven areas. Notable advantages included the Sportage's acceleration, reaching 100 km/h in 9.2 seconds compared to the CX-5's 10.6 seconds, and superior braking performance.
In terms of utility and economy, the Sportage was praised for its cargo capacity, interior comfort, and its 7-year or 150,000 km warranty. Auto Bild described the Sportage as a modern and convenient compact SUV for daily use. This result follows a previous high ranking for the Sportage in a July evaluation by Auto Motor und Sport.
