KIA Tigers acquire infielder Haji‑seok in trade with Hanwha Eagles
The KIA Tigers and Hanwha Eagles completed a player exchange after the 2024 Gwangju game, sending infielder Haji‑seok (32) to KIA and right‑handed reliever Lee Hyung‑beom (32) to Hanwha. Haji‑seok, a 2012 first‑round pick, has played 997 KBO games with a .268 batting average, 53 home runs and 425 RBIs. KIA highlighted his versatility at second base and shortstop as an asset for the club. Lee Hyung‑beom, a veteran closer with a career 4.86 ERA, was praised by Hanwha’s general manager for his recent strong bullpen performance, including a 3.00 ERA in 19 innings this season.
Both teams expect the trade to address roster needs: KIA adds infield depth, while Hanwha bolsters its late‑inning relief options.
