Kibbutz Ein HaShlosha family honors slain grandmother through charity
Liora Ben Tzur, a resident of Kibbutz Ein HaShlosha, recently discovered a meaningful legacy left by her mother, Marcelle Talia, who was killed during the October 7, 2023, attacks. Talia had traveled from Kiryat Arba to the kibbutz to assist with her grandchildren just before she was murdered while carrying candy for the children.
While searching through her mother’s belongings, Ben Tzur found a document wallet containing 2,000 shekels. Attached to the money was a note with a single word: ‘Tzedakah’ (charity), followed by her mother’s surname.
In honor of her mother’s memory, Ben Tzur and her siblings divided the money among various causes. Ben Tzur and her husband used their portion to purchase candy and small gifts for the children of Kibbutz Ein HaShlosha to be distributed during Simchat Torah, framing the treats as a holiday gift from Marcelle Talia.
