Kibbutz Nahal Oz leader Danny Rahamim enters political race
Danny Rahamim, the 71-year-old community leader of Kibbutz Nahal Oz, is running for office following the October 7, 2023, attacks. The attacks, carried out by Hamas, resulted in approximately 1,200 deaths and the taking of 251 hostages.
During the assault on Nahal Oz, fifteen members of the kibbutz were killed and eight were taken hostage into Gaza. Rahamim and his wife, Siobhan, were trapped in their home for a day while terrorists moved through the community. Despite the violence, Rahamim, a long-time peace activist, maintains his commitment to peace.
