Kickboxing Indonesia launches professional athlete development program

The Central Board of Kickboxing Indonesia (PP KBI) has officially inaugurated its leadership for the 2026–2030 period. Ngatino has been reappointed as Chairman for a third term, focusing on building an integrated ecosystem that connects amateur training with professional opportunities.

To achieve this, the organization plans to hold a National Championship (Kejurnas) in early November 2026. This event will include a ‘Gala Night’ designed to select the top 10 amateur athletes to enter a professional development program for 2027. The goal is to prepare these athletes for international competition.

Beyond athletic performance, officials emphasized the role of kickboxing in driving regional economic growth and human resource development. By strengthening the sports industry and organizational governance, the sport is viewed as a tool for character building and local economic optimization.
