Kidnapping of Two South Korean Nationals in Delmas, Haiti

Two South Korean citizens were abducted on Friday in the Delmas 33 district of Port‑au‑Prince, Haiti. Armed men in a Toyota Hilux blocked the victims' vehicle near Hospital La Paix, seized them, and drove them to an unknown location. A police officer escorting the pair was shot during the attack; his condition has not been confirmed.

The incident occurs amid a surge in kidnappings across the capital as Haiti approaches national elections in December. Foreigners, including entrepreneurs, aid workers and technicians, are increasingly targeted, raising concerns of a diplomatic response and heightened international scrutiny of Haiti's security situation.
