Kiekko-Espoo loses local derby to HIFK

Kiekko-Espoo suffered a 0-3 defeat against HIFK in their first local derby of the season. Following the match, Kiekko-Espoo head coach Jyrki Aho expressed dissatisfaction with his team's performance, particularly noting a poor first period and excessive time spent in the penalty box.

Controversy arose regarding two disallowed goals for Kiekko-Espoo, which were ruled out because a player interfered with HIFK goaltender Hugo Alnefelt. Aho commented on the physical nature of the contact, suggesting the goaltender's reaction appeared as though he had been 'shot with a shotgun.'

The match also featured a disciplinary incident involving Linus Öberg, who was sent off for hitting an opponent with a horizontal stick. Kiekko-Espoo currently sits tenth in the standings with 23 points.
