Kiel court hears crossbow attack on former landlord

A 37-year-old man has admitted to attacking his former landlord with a crossbow in the Rendsburg-Eckernförde district. During a trial at the Kiel Regional Court, the defendant stated that the attack was driven by a “feeling of chaos from humiliation and existential fears” following the termination of his rental agreement.

The incident occurred on March 16, when the defendant traveled to the victim's residence wearing black clothing and gloves to avoid leaving fingerprints. According to prosecutors, the man waited for the 73-year-old victim to open his door before firing a bolt that struck the senior in the chest. The defendant reportedly arrived at the scene with a crossbow and 19 bolts, motivated by ongoing financial difficulties and disputes regarding neighbors and building maintenance.
