Kiel Tatort crime series enters new era with new lead investigators

The Kiel-based crime series ‘Tatort’ is entering a new era following the retirement of Axel Milberg, who played Inspector Klaus Borowski for 22 years. The transition features Almila Bagriacik returning as Inspector Mila Şahin, who will now be joined by Karoline Schuch as criminal psychologist Elli Krieger.

The first collaborative episodes, a double feature titled ‘Unter Freunden/Unter Feinden’ (Under Friends/Under Enemies), are scheduled to air on October 11 and 18. The plot involves investigations into corruption and white-collar crime linked to a tech startup after a body is discovered in the Förde.

Production is also underway for two additional cases directed by Hans-Christian Schmid. One upcoming episode, tentatively titled ‘Tatort: Göteborg’, follows a customs officer in a high-stakes flight toward Sweden, while another, ‘Tatort: Rettungsschuss’, investigates the death of a patrol officer. These new productions are expected to broadcast around 2028.
