Kielce Jazz Festival features youth ensembles and professional quintets

The 24th Memorial To Miles Targi Kielce Jazz Festival featured diverse performances in Kielce, ranging from youth ensembles to established jazz professionals.

As part of the festival prologues, the group Saren Marimba & More Sound, composed of students from the Ludomir Różycki State Music School in Kielce, performed at the Kielce Cultural Center. Led by Dr. Anna Sarna, the ensemble utilized percussion, specifically the marimba, alongside wind and keyboard instruments.

On September 20, the quintet Common Structure performed at the Ludomir Różycki State Music School. The group, consisting of prominent Polish jazz artists and academics from the Krakow Academy of Music, performed compositions by Dr. Karol Ślusarski. The music was inspired by the paintings of artist Marek Batorski, with Ślusarski aiming to translate visual elements like brushstrokes and color into complex harmonic structures.
