Kielce MSPO defense fair incident leads to indictment of Ukrainian citizen
Polish prosecutors have filed indictment charges against a Ukrainian entrepreneur following a security incident at the International Defence Industry Exhibition (MSPO) in Kielce. On September 8, security personnel at one of the event gates discovered a magazine containing seven rounds of live ammunition in the man's backpack.
The suspect admitted the ammunition belonged to him but claimed he was unaware it was in his bag. While the Border Guard had previously issued a decision for his immediate deportation from Poland, the prosecution has applied a ban on leaving the country to prioritize the criminal proceedings. The individual is currently held in a guarded center for foreigners.
If the court lifts the travel ban, authorities plan to escort the man to the border to hand him over to Ukrainian services. The man faces up to eight years in prison.
