Kieler Tatort introduces new female-led investigative duo

The long-running German crime series ‘Tatort’ is introducing a new era for its Kiel-based investigations following the departure of Inspector Borowski in March 2025. After 22 years and 44 cases, the role of lead inspector has transitioned to Mila Sahin, played by Almila Bagriacik.

Sahin will be joined by police psychologist Elli Krieger, portrayed by Karoline Schuch. The relaunch features a two-part special titled ‘Tatort: Unter Freunden’ and ‘Tatort: Unter Feinden’, directed by Lars Kraume. The new direction is described as having a more modern, darker atmosphere, depicting Kiel as a cold metropolis struggling with corruption and violent crime.

The new episodes are scheduled to air on October 11 and October 18 at 8:15 PM on Das Erste, with earlier availability on the ARD Mediathek.
