Kieron Pollard becomes T20 cricket's all-time leading run-scorer

West Indian all-rounder Kieron Pollard has reclaimed the record for the most runs scored in T20 cricket history. Playing for the Trinbago Knight Riders in the 2026 Caribbean Premier League (CPL), the 39-year-old scored 65 runs off just 26 balls against the Saint Lucia Kings, including six boundaries and five sixes.

With this performance, Pollard surpassed England's Jos Buttler to take the top spot. Pollard now holds 14,921 runs across 749 T20 matches, while Buttler follows with 14,890 runs in 526 matches. Pollard is now only 79 runs away from becoming the first player to reach the 15,000-run milestone in T20 cricket.

The record-breaking innings took place at the Brian Lara Cricket Academy in Tarouba. Pollard entered the crease with the Knight Riders struggling at 76-4 and played a dominant role before being caught and bowled by Matthew Ford in the 17th over.
