Kifli.hu reports rising demand for craft and non-alcoholic beers in Hungary

Data from the Hungarian online retailer Kifli.hu reveals significant shifts in beer and cider consumption trends. Over the past year, the value of beer and cider sales has increased by nearly 20%, while the volume of units sold has grown by almost 25%.

Key drivers of this growth include craft beers and non-alcoholic options. The number of craft beer units sold rose by approximately 40%, with roughly 80% of craft beer sales originating from Hungarian breweries. Demand is particularly strong for lager, APA, and IPA styles.

Non-alcoholic beer has seen a massive surge, with orders increasing by 134% in one year and volume rising by more than two-thirds. Currently, every third beer ordered online is non-alcoholic, driven by lifestyle choices such as fitness and moderate consumption. Within this segment, flavored non-alcoholic options are growing rapidly; for instance, passionfruit-lime sales increased more than fivefold, and cherry flavors doubled.
