Kiiraay women leaders support Minister Amy Mara Dièye

During the 2026 Maouloud celebrations, the Kiiraay women leaders collective in Kaolack issued a statement supporting Minister of Fisheries and Maritime Economy Amy Mara Dièye. The group praised the minister’s engagement with religious authorities in locations such as Tivaouane, Thianaba, and Kaolack.

The collective also commended President Bassirou Diomaye Faye for his attention to the spiritual celebrations and noted the participation of high-level delegations, including Prime Minister Al Aminou Lo and Minister of the Interior Mouhamadou Makhtar Cissé.

Additionally, the Kiiraay leaders addressed rumors regarding political tensions between Minister Dièye and collaborator Aminata Touré, dismissing such reports as maneuvers intended to create division within the government. They asserted that the two women maintain a solid collaboration focused on national development.
