Kijimadaira to launch new nighttime illumination event in Nagano

A new nighttime tourism initiative, ‘Yama ni Koi suru Illumination in Kijimadaira’ (Falling in Love with the Mountains Illumination), is set to launch in Kijimadaira Village, Nagano Prefecture, on September 5, 2026. The event is a collaborative project between SBC Co., Ltd., seeds Co., Ltd., and Takasho Digitech Co., Ltd.

The attraction features approximately 400,000 lights and 25,000 dahlia flowers, designed to harmonize with the local mountains and starry skies. Key features include a light-up dahlia garden, a fountain area with music and light shows, and various photo spots. The event aims to extend the village's tourism season beyond the winter ski period by creating reasons for visitors to stay through the spring, summer, and autumn.

To encourage local spending, the event integrates dining, hot springs, and accommodation. Visitors can access local food, such as curry made with Nagano vegetables, and receive discounts for the ‘Bihada-no-yu’ hot springs or stays at SBC RESORT Kijimadaira. The event will run until November 8, 2026, and allows pets to enter with prior consent.
