Kiké Hernández expresses desire to return to Dodgers as free agent
Los Angeles Dodgers veteran Kiké Hernández has entered free agency following the team’s elimination from the National League Championship Series. The 35-year-old infielder expressed a strong desire to return to the organization to pursue another championship.
“Every time I look at my career, I kind of obviously go back to this place. I’ve been here the longest. I hope I come back,” Hernández stated. He noted that despite a disappointing season and recovery from surgery, he feels he still has much left to contribute to his playing career.
The Dodgers' front office, led by President of Baseball Operations Andrew Friedman and General Manager Brandon Gomes, faces decisions regarding roster turnover as they look to integrate younger talent. While Hernández’s future remains uncertain, the retirement of teammate Miguel Rojas may create more opportunities for veteran players on the roster.
