KiK to close 150 stores across Germany as part of network optimization

The fashion retailer KiK is undergoing a significant restructuring of its retail network, with plans to close approximately 150 stores across Germany by the end of 2026. This move is part of a planned optimization process that began in 2025.

In North Rhine-Westphalia (NRW), several locations have already closed or are scheduled to close, including sites in Essen, Hamm, Marl, Ochtrup, Radevormwald, Troisdorf, and Wassenberg. The company has stated it will not release comprehensive closure lists or provide specific details regarding future planned shutdowns in certain regions.

Nationwide, dozens of locations in major cities such as Berlin, Hamburg, Munich, Stuttgart, and Frankfurt have already been affected. Beyond Germany, the company's broader European strategy involves a total of approximately 300 planned store closures across its 14 operating countries.
