Kiko Mizuhara debuts as solo artist with Stones Throw

Model and actress Kiko Mizuhara has made her debut as a solo musical artist under the Los Angeles-based label Stones Throw. Her first single, ‘Feelin’ Wee’, has been released alongside a music video directed by Luke Casey.

Mizuhara’s transition into music began following a cover of Haruomi Hosono’s ‘Fuku wa Uchi Oni wa Soto’, a project involving her sister Yuka Mizuhara and producer John Carroll Kirby. Kirby encouraged her to write her own lyrics, leading to the recording of original material. Mizuhara described the process as a liberating experience, noting that the new track is funky, mysterious, and playful.

In her comments regarding the debut, Mizuhara admitted to initial difficulties in getting used to hearing her own recorded voice, but noted that Kirby provided support during the transition.
