Kilimanjaro Marathon launches 25th anniversary season

The 25th season, or Silver Jubilee, of the Kilimanjaro Premium Lager Marathon has been officially launched in Dar es Salaam. The event is scheduled to take place in Moshi on February 7, 2027.

Former Prime Minister Kassim Majaliwa praised the marathon for its quarter-century of excellence and its role in promoting sports culture and tourism in Tanzania. He noted that the event serves as a vital platform for developing local athletic talent and provides a significant economic boost to the hospitality, transport, and small business sectors in Moshi and surrounding areas.

The marathon attracts over 13,200 participants and an equal number of spectators from more than 60 countries. Majaliwa encouraged attendees to visit major Tanzanian tourist attractions, including Mount Kilimanjaro, Serengeti National Park, the Ngorongoro Crater, and Zanzibar.
