Kilis hosts regional journalists' summit and cultural tour

Journalists from across Southeast Anatolia and the Eastern Mediterranean have gathered in Kilis for the 28th Presidents' Board Meeting. Organized by the Southeast Anatolia Journalists Federation (GAGF), the Anatolian Internet Journalists Federation, and the Kilis Press Association, the three-day event aims to strengthen solidarity among regional media and address professional challenges.

The program includes official visits to the Kilis Governor's Office, Provincial Police Department, and Regiment Command. Participants will also engage in cultural tours of local landmarks, such as the Alaeddin Yavaşca Museum and Ulu Mosque, and attend the Kilis Pepper Festival.

During the gathering, Kilis Governor Kalaylı discussed the city's development, highlighting its rich history with over 560 historical structures. He noted that restoration work is underway on 25 foundation works, with 15 already completed. Additionally, the Governor addressed industrial growth, mentioning that the current organized industrial zone employs approximately 5,000 people and that new industrial areas are being established near the Gaziantep border to increase employment.
