Kilkis wildfire in Agios Antonios contained
A wildfire broke out in the agricultural-forest area of Agios Antonios, Kilkis, on the afternoon of Wednesday, August 26, 2026. The Fire Service Operations Center received notification of the blaze at approximately 18:30.
Emergency response efforts included 36 firefighters, two hiking teams from the 2nd EMODE, nine vehicles, and three aircraft. The municipality of Kilkis also provided water tankers to assist in the operation.
According to the Fire Service, the fire no longer has an active front. The Thessaloniki Arson Crimes Unit has been mobilized to investigate the cause of the fire.
