Killara man arrested for alleged 2023 sexual assault of a minor

A 70-year-old man from Killara has been arrested and charged following an alleged sexual assault of a 14-year-old boy at Echo Point Park in Roseville. Detectives describe the incident, which occurred in 2023, as a random attack, noting that the perpetrator and the victim likely did not know each other.

Following a tactical police raid on the man's home, several electronic devices were seized for forensic examination. The suspect was taken to Hornsby Police Station and charged with having sex with a child, sexually touching a child, and inciting a child to perform a sexual act.

The man appeared in Hornsby Local Court on Thursday, where bail was refused. He is scheduled to appear in court again on November 4.
