Killing Faith film premieres on HBO Max

The film ‘Killing Faith’ (titled ‘Possuída no Deserto’ in Brazil) has premiered on HBO Max. Directed by Ned Crowley, the production is a genre-blending work that combines Western, suspense, and supernatural horror elements.

Set in the American West in 1849, the story follows Sarah, a Black woman who has recently gained her freedom, and her daughter. As they travel through a region plagued by a mysterious disease, Sarah becomes convinced her daughter is possessed, leading her to seek help from a preacher. She is accompanied by Dr. Bender, a skeptical physician played by Guy Pearce, who seeks a scientific explanation for the girl's condition.

The film features a cast including Guy Pearce, DeWanda Wise, and Bill Pullman. Filming took place in and around Santa Fe, New Mexico, beginning in January 2024, and utilized over 100 local professionals.
