Kim Da-hyun addresses controversy following Sim Soo-bong's criticism

Singer Kim Da-hyun has addressed the recent controversy involving veteran singer Sim Soo-bong. During a performance at the 2026 Goseong Dinosaur World Expo, Kim expressed her determination to grow as an artist despite the recent emotional distress caused by Sim's public criticism.

The conflict originated at the Jinan Plateau Trot Festival, where Sim Soo-bong criticized Kim's performance, stating that the young singer did not seem to understand the essence of music or life. Sim requested that such performers not be placed before her in the future. Following the backlash, Sim issued an apology, admitting her remarks were inappropriate and lacked common sense for a festival setting. Kim later confirmed that Sim had personally called her to offer apologies and warm encouragement.

Actor Yoo Tung has also weighed in on the situation, offering a harsh critique of Sim Soo-bong. Yoo suggested that Sim's recent behavior and public outbursts could negatively impact her career longevity, characterizing the incident as a self-inflicted blow to her professional standing. He attributed the erratic behavior to age-related health concerns, noting that Sim had appeared to require physical assistance while on stage.
