Kim Huybrechts enters Flanders Darts Trophy after major player withdrawals

A wave of withdrawals from high-profile players has altered the lineup for the Flanders Darts Trophy in Antwerp. Luke Littler, Luke Humphries, Jonny Clayton, and Gary Anderson have all withdrawn from the tournament scheduled for September 11–13.

These absences have provided a significant opportunity for Belgian player Kim Huybrechts. Originally listed as the third reserve, Huybrechts will now enter the main draw. This shift is critical for his pursuit of a World Grand Prix qualification; he reportedly needs at least one victory in the first round in Antwerp to keep his chances alive.

Other players moving into the main field include Gabriel Clemens, James Hurrell, and Brendan Dolan. The withdrawals of Humphries and Clayton are noted as less surprising given their secured spots in the European Championship, whereas Gary Anderson’s absence may impact his standing on the European Tour Order of Merit.
