North Korea marks 81st Workers' Party anniversary with celebratory performance
North Korea held a celebratory performance at the Pyongyang Indoor Stadium to mark the 81st founding anniversary of the Workers' Party of Korea. Leader Kim Jong-un attended the event alongside his wife, Ri Sol-ju, and daughter, Kim Ju-ae.
The festivities included patriotic songs, dance, acrobatics, and military band ceremonies. Unlike previous milestone anniversaries, such as the 80th anniversary which featured large-scale military parades and missile unveilings, this year's celebrations were described as relatively modest in scale. Kim Jong-un did not issue a formal speech or statement during the proceedings, though he expressed satisfaction with the performance and offered congratulations to the participants.
In addition to the performance, party officials visited the Party Founding Museum, and various commemorative events, including youth gatherings and fireworks, were held in Pyongyang. Diplomatic envoys and foreign mission members were also invited to attend the performance.
