Kim Jong-un calls for destructive artillery capabilities

North Korean leader Kim Jong-un has called for the development of the “most concentrated and destructive” artillery capabilities during a visit to major munitions factories. Accompanied by senior officials, including Pak Jong-chon, Kim inspected various munitions enterprises from Wednesday to Friday.

Kim emphasized that the artillery forces must possess massive and versatile offensive capabilities to fulfill the dual missions of deterring and fighting war. He directed the munitions industry to support the strategic policy of building a “most powerful army.”

Key policy tasks outlined by Kim include enhancing artificial intelligence in both offensive and defensive weaponry, upgrading the armor and automation of artillery, and improving production conditions. Reports suggest the inspections included facilities producing drones and 600-millimeter and 240-millimeter multiple rocket launchers.
