Kim Jong-un makes unannounced visit to China

North Korean leader Kim Jong-un conducted an unannounced one-day visit to the Chinese border city of Dandong on October 24. This marks his first visit to China in over a year and occurs ahead of the upcoming APEC summit in Shenzhen.

During the visit, Kim met with Wang Huning, Chairman of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference. The two leaders discussed expanding people-to-people exchanges, increasing economic and trade cooperation, and strengthening strategic coordination to protect national sovereignty and security. Wang Huning also conveyed greetings from Chinese President Xi Jinping.

Kim participated in commemorative activities, including laying a wreath at a memorial for Chinese soldiers who died during the Korean War. He also visited a bus manufacturing plant in Dandong before returning to North Korea via a newly opened bridge over the Yalu River.
