Kim Milyoner Olmak İster increases top prize to 10 million TL

The long-running Turkish quiz show ‘Kim Milyoner Olmak İster?’ is entering a new era on ATV, featuring a significant increase in its top prize and a change in hosting duties. The grand prize has been doubled from 5 million TL to 10 million TL, which is being promoted as the largest cash prize ever awarded in Turkey.

Cem Öğretir will take over as the new host, succeeding Oktay Kaynarca. The program, which has been broadcasting for 26 years, has seen various hosts over its history, including Kenan Işık, Selçuk Yöntem, Murat Yıldırım, and Kenan İmirzalıoğlu.

In a recent episode, 21-year-old Emrullah Erol, a double major student in Industrial Engineering and Economics at Koç University, demonstrated the high level of competition. Erol, who ranked 77th nationally in numerical fields, reached the 300,000 TL question level before being eliminated on a vocabulary question, leaving the show with a 50,000 TL milestone prize.
