Kim Min-hee and Hong Sang-soo attend Locarno Film Festival

Actor Kim Min-hee and director Hong Sang-soo made their first public appearance together since the birth of their son at the 79th Locarno Film Festival in Switzerland. The pair attended the screening of Hong’s 35th feature film, ‘Nowhere to Lay My Eyes’, which was invited to the festival's international competition section.

During a Q&A session following the screening, Kim discussed her experience balancing her acting career with motherhood. She noted that during the production of the film, she managed childcare responsibilities, such as breastfeeding and preparing baby food, directly on set. Kim described this period as a healthy transition, moving from a singular focus on film to a lifestyle that integrates her professional and maternal roles.

Nowhere to Lay My Eyes’ follows a character named Sang-hee, played by Kim, who travels to Jeju Island to find her mother. In addition to her starring role, Kim served as the film's production manager. The film is currently competing for the Golden Leopard prize.
