Kim Min-seok denies reporting negative views on Yong Hye-in to President
Kim Min-seok, a leader of the Democratic Party of Korea, has denied reports claiming he informed President Lee Jae-myung of negative public opinion regarding Yong Hye-in, the nominee for Minister of Gender Equality and Family. The denial follows reports suggesting Kim relayed these concerns during a farewell event for the President at Seoul Airport prior to his official visit to France.
Kim clarified on the ‘Min-ty 07’ program on the Democratic Party’s official YouTube channel that while various opinions regarding the nominee exist within and outside the party, the specific claim that he communicated this to the President at the airport is a misreport.
Additionally, Kim criticized independent lawmaker Han Dong-hoon, labeling him an “attention seeker” for his ongoing allegations regarding Justice Minister nominee Kim Seung-won. Alongside Kim, lawmaker Song Young-gil criticized Han’s methods of releasing investigative materials, suggesting such actions could potentially violate privacy laws.
