Kim Min-seok identifies Busan as key battleground for 2028 election

Kim Min-seok, a representative of the Democratic Party of Korea, identified Busan and the Nakdong River region as the primary battlegrounds for the 2028 general election. Speaking at a youth forum in Busan, Kim emphasized that the party aims to secure victory in these areas to shape the nation's future.

Kim highlighted the historical significance of Busan as a center for democratization, alongside Gwangju. He advocated for a constitutional amendment that includes the spirits of the Busan-Masan democratic movement and the May 18 Gwangju Democratization Movement. He criticized certain members of the People Power Party for their remarks regarding the May 18 movement and the nature of the December 12 coup, suggesting that politicians who deny these historical facts should be barred from the National Assembly.

Regarding regional development, Kim pledged to pursue projects such as the Gadeokdo New Airport and the North Port development. He also addressed the importance of engaging the youth vote, noting that the party is considering hosting its first national youth cultural festival in Busan to consolidate support among younger generations.
