Kim Min-seok pledges focus on livelihood and field-based policy

Democratic Party of Korea leader Kim Min-seok has announced a shift in focus toward livelihood issues and field-based policy, stating, “Now it is all about the field.” Following the launch of a constitutional amendment task force, Kim visited a city bus depot at dawn to meet with drivers and operators, signaling his intent to prioritize practical governance and policy through a new task force system.

In response, People Power Party lawmaker Ahn Cheol-soo criticized the push for constitutional reform, calling it a “pipe dream.” Ahn argued that the government and opposition should focus on pressing economic and livelihood concerns—such as real estate and the economy—rather than constitutional changes, noting that public approval ratings have been declining.
