Actress Kim Min Ha to Host 31st Busan International Film Festival Opening

Kim Min Ha has been chosen as the sole host of the opening ceremony for the 31st Busan International Film Festival (BIFF). The festival will run for ten days from October 6 to October 15, 2026 at the Busan Cinema Center and surrounding venues, following last year’s successful introduction of a competition section that aimed to boost the event’s global standing.

Kim debuted in 2016 and gained international recognition for portraying young Sunja in Apple TV+’s series Pachinko, a role that earned her a Breakout TV award at the 2022 Asian American Awards. Since then she has appeared in dramas such as Light Shop, Way Back Love, Typhoon Family, and the 2026 film Hana Korea. Her recent honors include Outstanding Asian Star at the 2025 Seoul International Drama Awards, Best New Actress at the 2025 Blue Dragon Series Awards and Rising Star Actress at the 2026 Korea First Brand Awards. Organizers expect her poise and experience to add prestige to the opening night.
