Kim Mu-yeol named Icon of the Year at inaugural Icon Awards

The inaugural Icon Awards, hosted by global media platform BoldPage in collaboration with Lotte Department Store, was held on the 1st at Lotte Department Store in Seoul. The awards ceremony recognizes individuals who transcend traditional boundaries and offer new perspectives within their respective fields.

Actor Kim Mu-yeol was named ‘Icon of the Year’ following his significant contributions to contemporary culture, including his role in the Netflix series ‘True Education,’ which surpassed 200 million viewing hours to rank first globally this year. Kim expressed his gratitude, noting that the award felt particularly special due to his dedication during the filming of ‘True Education.’

Actress Jeon So-young received the ‘Rising Icon’ award for her performances in Netflix’s ‘Girigo’ and TVING’s ‘Becoming a Legend of the Cook.’ Artist Min Jun-hong was honored with the ‘Visionary Icon’ award for his work exploring urban landscapes and modern social structures.
