Kim Simmons to perform ‘Free’ at Teatro Leal

Singer Kim Simmons will perform her album ‘Free’ at Teatro Leal in La Laguna on Thursday, September 24. The concert is part of the monthly ‘Efecto Laguna’ cycle, an initiative by the Organismo Autónomo de Actividades Musicales (OAAM) to support local and regional artists.

Originally from Honduras and currently based in Tenerife, Simmons performs a style blending soul, blues, and funk, reinterpreting musical sounds from the 1950–1980 era through a contemporary lens. Her performance is linked to the audiovisual project ‘Free – Salir es posible’, which explores how artistic creation helped her overcome a situation of gender-based violence.

Simmons will be accompanied by a band featuring Ramón Castrillo on bass, Michael Afonso on guitar, and Kiko Castro on drums.
